This exercise explored the world of digital reading. While a PDF is typically static, the goal was to experiment with different strategies to create a more dynamic reading experience.

The illustrations of this pdf are for part of the book A Flor e o Peixe by Afonso Cruz, a poetic fable inspired by two tales from José Saramago. The text references an Asian river and mountain, which led me to explore this theme further. I designed the reading experience to mimic traditional shadow puppetry, where layered elements move to create depth. For the illustrations, I aimed to capture a traditional Japanese aesthetic, drawing inspiration from an old Japanese pattern book.
